Congratulations to Grit Walther's class at Traina Elementary. For the third year in a row, they took first place in the 2012 Fifth-Grade Comcast Reading Challenge for reading the most pages of any class in Modesto, Stockton and Tracy.

Congratulations to Hawkins Teacher Cassandra deWood. Ms. deWood was selected as the California State Science Teacher of the Year at the State Science Fair on May 3, 2011. In addition, Jefferson School District had three students who placed at the State Science Fair.
